Lord Krishna Theme cake

Lord Krishna is a diety worshipped across many traditions in Hinduism. He is well known for his mischievous acts during his childhood days.

This unique theme cake was made for the birthday of a baby girl. The main aim of the design was to reproduce the environment & things related to Krishna's stories. The design flows into the village scene with mountains on the background & festive looking houses with lots of greenary around. Krishna is often known for stealing/eating butter. So the Krishna topper is created with some butter pots. To match the whole theme the birthday message is also written on a peacock studded floral plaque.

All the decorations are edible made of sugar fondant.

Circles & Stripes Baby Shower

This cake was made for a Surprise Baby shower for one of my close friend. The gender of the baby was a SURPRISE for all. So the idea was to use all the pastel baby colors. There was no specific theme as such. Since this baby was supposed to be born in Spring, I tried to highlight the design with spring colors yellow, orange & green using circles & stripes as the theme.

A baby topper adorns the top of the cake with some cascading circles flowing outwards.

Horse cake

This 2D sculpted horse cake was made for the birthday of a 14 year old girl who is into horse riding. The request was to make something to match her favorite black horse.

The entire cake is covered & decorated in fondant. Little details are hand-painted. Since the entire horse was done in black, it was little tricky to make all the details stand out. Therefore, I used contrast bridle straps. I was pretty happy with the final result & the birthday girl loved it too :-)

Go Diego Cake....

This cake was made for the 2nd birthday of a little boy. The theme is basically Diego exploring the jungle. Unlike all the other jungle themes with scenic landscapes, I decided to go with a contrast base tier design.

My idea was to keep the contrast on the base tier, at the same time it should blend with the top tier. I included some monkeys & jaguar to go with the theme. All the decorations on this cake are edible made out of fondant. The Diego is a candle. Designs on the base tier are hand-piped with buttercream.

Here is how the whole design theme came out....

Baby clothes Baby shower cake

This cake was made for a Baby shower on a very short notice. I did not have enough time to make the baby clothes far ahead of time and let it dry. All the small clothes & accessories were made out of fondant & allowed to dry for about 2 hours.

The cake was then decorated using all those tiny clothes on the sides of the cake. A teddy bear design dress set was made for the topper. The cake design is a repeat design of one of my previous baby shower cake except for the topper.
