This cake was designed for our (me & hubby) 5th wedding anniversary. The inspiration for this cake was the snow in our backyard. Over the last weeks we have had several inches of snow in our area. The snow covered backyard looks amazing to view from inside the house. I have always wanted to create a snowman with all that snow, but have not yet dared to go out in the freezing temperatures to fulfill that wish :-) So I decided why not make a snowman couple for the theme.The cake is simply frosted with spatula strokes to represent the snow covered ground. Couple of snowflakes are added behind the couple for dimensional effect.
Here is a closeup view of the snowman bride & groom topper. Everything is edible and hand molded with sugar fondant.
