Lego blocks cake

This colorful cake was designed to look like the Lego blocks for a 7 year old birthday.

The cake is completely covered with vanilla buttercream. The only challenge was to get sharp corners :-)

My kids would have loved these Lego blocks when they were younger for a birthday cake!

Wow one of the best examples of a lego cake I've seen, very impressive. And yes the sharp corners look good. I'm tackling a lego cake tomorrow.

HI- I was wondering- how did you get the sharp corners? Any advice? I'm hoping to try this for my son's birthday.

My son named Ethan is turning 7 next week. He asked for a Lego cake, so I google searched and this came up! What an amazing coincidence...or is it fate???

Curious about how you got the sharp corners using buttercream... I am making a lego cake for my son's 8th birthday next weekend... :) I may use fondant, but if it isn't too hard/time consuming to make the corners using buttercream, I'd much rather do that.

How did you make the round knobs on top? Also, how did you make the corners sharp with buttercream? This is the best looking lego cake I have seen using buttercream frosting.
